Hey there

thanks for the question

Rules for No sooner … than :

No sooner + auxiliary verb + first act + than + second act

Ex. The food was ready . She called her son .

= No sooner was the food ready than she called her son . { here , was = auxiliary verb, the food ready = f.a , she called her son = s.a }

REMEMBER use auxiliary verb given in sentence . if it's not given the use Do / Does for present and Did for past .

Rules for Hardly .... when :

Hardly had + f. a + when + s.a

Ex. Hemant read the news. His face became pale.

= Hardly had Hemant read the news when his face became pale .

REMEMBER converting the verb into its third form. i.e past participle.

AND for converting no sooner into Hardly when :

First make the sentence simpler. i.e convert into two small sentences . Just like above examples . And then follow the rules of Hardly … when .

Ex. No sooner was the door opened than the lion jumped out

-> The door was opened. The lion jumped out .

=> Hardly had the door opened than the lion jumped out .

HOPE THIS ANSWER WILL HELP YOU !
