what are the rules of naming an organic compound?


lamshi: Steps in naming a compound are:1)Locate the longest carbon chain.2) Name the longest carbon chain.3) figure out what the ending (suffix)shuold be.4) Number your carbon atoms.5) Name the side groups.6)put the side groups in alphabetical orders.
