The service rendered by plants for the sustenance of the living world:

  • Plants are living things which can prepare their own food by the process of photosynthesis in the presence of 'sunlight'.
  • Hence they are known as 'autotrophs'.
  • There is a pigment of green colour which is known as chlorophyll.
  • This pigment helps them to prepare their own food.

EXPLANATION:

The animals are heavily dependent upon plant for their food and living. The herbivorous animals directly eat the plant for the living and the other animal or indirectly dependent for their living, shelter, oxygen etc.
