Photochemical contains some components like nitric oxide, acrolein, formaldehyde, ozone and Peroxyacetyl Nitrate or PAN which are very harmful for us as well as for environment and plants.

Side effects of photochemical smog are as follows:-

  1. It may cause very serious health problems like asthma.
  2. Some components like ozone and PAN are very harmful for our eyes.
  3. Some components like nitric oxide may cause irritation in our nose and throat.
  4. Headache, pain in the chest and coughing are the some results of increasing concentration of nitric oxide.
  5. Photochemical not only effects badly to humans but it also affects to plant by cracking of rubber.
  6. It may also cause corrosion in the stones, metals and printed surfaces.
