Regional parties are important to maintain the stability and propagate equal development. National parties on a large front, work for the development of the country as a whole which may sometimes lead to overlook few areas. But when the regional parties work in the field, they develop their regions which ultimately lead to the country's prosperity. Moreover national parties may not be aware of the problems at their deeper roots. Though they have their branches and representatives over the country they can't work at the deeper roots due to the lack of knowledge of the place and society. In this aspect regional parties can play a greater role in identifying the problems and working in them. Regional parties moreover make the democracy more strong and give a larger picture for the long run of a large democratic country.

Most regional political parties have grown in the last three decades as instruments to capture the space in their respective States and sometimes they play a crucial role in State politics. The regional parties maintain that the problems of their regions are not being attended to by the Central Government.
