Both poems share simple, direct, first-person language, are set in early spring, and celebrate nature. "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud," however, is more personal, focused on the poet's own relationship to nature. This is in suggested in the opening line, "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud": the speaker is by himself walking in the natural world. As he walks, his spirits are lifted, and he feels great joy as he comes across the sight.
