\huge\bold{Answer:}

\large\underline{Similarities:}

The main similarity include that both exocytosis and endocytosis are involved in transporting big molecules across the membrane using a vesicle and needs energy.

\large\underline{Differences:}

The basic differences are thus that :

1) Endocytosis brings materials to the inside of the cell while exocytosis takes them out.

2) Exocytosis has the vesicle which is formed in the golgi apparatus which then fuses with the membrane, while endocytosis has the vesicle formed from the cell membrane which then gets into the cytoplasm.

3) Endocytosis decreases the size of the cell membrane while exocytosis does the opposite.

Explanation:

Cytosis means transport of molecules in and out with respect to a cell.

Similarities between endocytosis and exocytosis:

  1. Both of them are cellular processes for the transport of molecules in or out from the cell.
  2. Both processes are active mostly and require energy.

Differences between endocytosis and exocytosis:

  1. Endocytosis is a cellular process in which materials or molecules are brought inside the cell while Exocytosis is also a cellular process by which materials from inside the cell are transported outside to the exterior environment.
  2. Exocytosis comparatively requires more energy(ATP) than endocytosis.
  3. Endocytosis are of three types: Pinocytosis, Phagocytosis and Receptor mediated endocytosis and Exocytosis are of three types: Constructive exocytosis, Regulated exocytosis, Lysosome mediated exocytosis.
  4. Endocytosis helps in absorbing nutrients, eliminating pathogens and disposing of old/damaged cells while Exocytosis helps in removing toxins/waste substances, repairing cell membrane and facilitating communication between cells.
