What are the similarities and differences between coconut tree and Jowar stalk plant
Answers
Both coconut and Jowar stalk plants fall under the same Plantae Kingdom. Both have green leaves on them, and both produce delicious things.
However, all coconut trees can be called plants, but, not a single Jowar Plant can be called a tree, as they do not have a sturdy stem.
"The coconut palm (cocos nucifera) belongs to the botanical family Arecaceae while the jowar stalk plant commonly known as sorghum (sorghum sp.) belongs to the family Poaceae.
The similarities between both coconut and jowar are that, while they originated from different parts of the world, they are found on the Indian subcontinent. While coconut is said to have first been found in the Americas, jowar is considered native to Australia. Both are used in preparation of food.
The main difference between them lies in their different uses. Jowar is used as a food item, grain and fodder for animals, while coconut is mainly used for its oil, husk, palm fronds, leaves etc."
