Because of the lack of water and extreme temperature at both places, the vegetation is scanty.

The plants that grow in the Sahara Desert have long roots which go deep into the soil in search of water. The leaves are spiny and small to prevent the loss of water through transpiration. Some of the plants found here are Palms, dates, acacia and cactus.

Ladakh has extremely cold climate. Patches of grass can be found at lower altitudes for the animals to graze. Willows and poplars are the two species of trees which are generally found in the region.

During summers, fruits such as apricots, walnuts and apples are grown.

On higher altitudes, due to extremely cold climate only mosses and lichens can be found.

Explanation:

The rocks do not have any flora. The Ladakh desert is located at a high altitude of above 5000m.
