what are the source of the FSH and progesterone ?

\huge\mathbf\orange{Answer}

During each menstrual cycle, there is a rise in follicle stimulating hormone secretion in the first half of the cycle that stimulates follicular growth in the ovary.

  • After ovulation the ruptured follicle forms a corpus luteum that produces high levels of progesterone.

These studies showed that the effect of progesterone administered for periods of 1 to 6 h enhanced the secretion of LH and FSH whereas progesterone administered for periods beyond 12 h inhibited FSH and LH release by dispersed pituitary cells in culture.
