there are many ways to prevent diseases but it depends upon the disease you are talking about. If you want to prevent an water borne diseases like malaria, dengue, chikengunea then it's better way is to prevent the mosquitoes breeding which usually takes place in stagnant water by replacing it with fresh water , if you are talking about air borne diseases like dyrea and typhoid or common cold which usually caused by contaminated food or water it's better to protect the food by covering them or prevention of close contact with any infected person.
