The root nodule forms through the following step:
- The suitable root hair is found by the bacteria Rhizobium and it initiates to divide close to it.
- As a result of rapid division of the bacteria it leads to infection and causes curling of the root hair.
- With the help of the infected region, the bacteria reach the inner cortex of the root.
- In this region the bacteria changes its shape and leads to the division of the pericycle and cortex regions.
- This action leads to formation of root nodule.
