Hey bud...
The govt of India has taken many steps to improve the literary rate among people. let's discuss some of them:
i) free education is given to children in rural areas. poverty being the main reason for a child n parents, they don't send them to school. But the govt is very keen in providing the children the prime right to proper education which is free of cost.
ii) Schemes have been promoted like SARVA SHIKHSHA ABHIYAN schemewhich gives children free education. Another one is MID DAY MEAL scheme which provides free food to the students.
iii) Scholarships are also provided to increase the interests of children. SchoI'm uniforms, text books and many other necessary accessories are provided to the student free of cost.
so these are some of the main steps taken up by the govt...
hope it helps...!?!?!
