From my point of view, the subject that needed to be studied in class 10th of CBSE are maths, english, hindi/Sanskrit, social science, Science or any other additional subject.

Here maths, English, Hindi / Sanskrit, social science, science are important subjects and it is compulsory to all to study and the addition subject is a subject which helps you to gain more and more marks in the board result so I think the additional subject will help you to gain more marks.
