The Supereme Court has issued certain guidelines to the police in order to protect the Fundamental Rights of the citizens. Some of these guidelines are:-

1. The place of arrest, the venue of custody and the time should be noted by the police.

2. If the relatives of the accused do not reside with him, the police should inform them through a

legal aid organisation.

3. The accused should be made aware of his rights immediately after the arrest.
