In PAIS, the body partially responds to these hormones. Signs and symptoms of PAIS can vary greatly, causing a range of differences in genital appearance. Some individuals have severe hypospadias, an unusually small penis, and bifid scrotum.

Partial androgen insensitivity syndrome has the following symptoms:

Least severe cases:

1. Hardening of tubules present in the testis resulting in infertility.

2. Semen contains little or no sperm.

More severe cases:

1. Abnormal penis; hypospadias( urethra opening underside).

2. Male hormone production impaired.

3. Enlargement of male breasts, voice becomes high pitched, masculine hair( on face and chest) quite less.

4. Testes failing to descend in a normal way; reduction in cellular functioning of the testes.

All these are abnormalities associated with genital development that results in the inability of a cell to show any responsiveness to androgen.
