1) we take an imaginary loop for only current direction. If in a component current goes in same direction I will be +ve and potential drop will be +be otherwise -ve

2) sum of all voltage drops will be equal to total emf in that loop

3) emf of battery will be positive if current goes from -ve to +be terminal

(convectional current).
