Answer:

This is what every single person ( incl me) is looking for these days, isn't it?

I am writing this not because I consider myself at an Olympian height of wisdom or experience. Quite to the contrary, am undergoing one of the worst phases of my life for the past my month or so and I think this spell is here to stay. I write this more as a reminder to myself than as an answer to someone's questions.

Accept: Life is a rollercoaster ride and it doesn't always serve you what you deserve. Sometimes, as has happened with me, you have tried everything that you could have possibly done and yet what you wished for isn't granted. Call it God, or Destiny or Luck or Karma or anything else. But such things happen, accept them. By acceptance, I don't mean to say stop trying. I am just trying to say that there are things in life that we cannot control and won't be able to. We need to learn to accept those changes and move on, however hard it may be. To accept things and people the way they are is to be at peace with yourself.

Simplify: Life is actually simple. Most of the times we complicate it ourselves or situations beyond our control do. Comparing your situation or life with others, competing with others to the extent of neglecting people and things who actually do matter to you, running after more,on a continuous basis, takes away all of your energy and time. You end up missing what can really give you peace. Your family, little pleasures of life and love for yourself. Contentment brings peace.

Refuel: Life sometimes gets mundane, boring or challenging or else, goes into overdrive. It helps to take a break and recenter your focus. Any activity or hobby, talking with someone you havent seen in a while but would love to, going away for a while, working on fitness, meditating. These help calm your mind and body down and you will find yourself feeling better and at peace. Remember, taking time out for yourself is “nothing wrong”. It is the best use you could put your time into. Once you are in tune with yourself, you will be at peace with the world around.

Have faith: In yourself. In your abilities and the goodness of your heart. Don't do things that you know you wouldn't want others to do to you.Look for the goodness in others. Be gentle with everyone. Faith gives us the strength necessary to strive for peace, amidst all the chaos of the world.

Care: I don't believe that allowing yourself to care for someone is weakness. It is the biggest strength and source of self worth. Care enough to help, to understand and enough to help. The richness of sleep at the end of the day when you have helped others ? Amazing. If that doesn't bring peace, nothing will.

Job is not life: Job is a source to fund your living. A means of livelihood. It is NOT our life. But we let it sneak in and take away the best part of our lives- things that make our lives worth living. We bring back stress from work to our homes and family and lose all that. If it is possible, keep your work life as far away as possible from your life. Peace is a given.

Hope this helps!
