The SC looks for the matters which are of national importance like it resolves the disputes between the centre and any state or between two states.

The HC looks into the internal problems of the states whereas the District Courts looks into other smaller matters.

However,one can appeal to the higher court if he is not satisfied by the decision of the lower court and in this case the decision of the apex court is final and bounding to all the lower courts.
