The environment a few decades back was a very clean and pollution-free one. There was a lot of greenery everywhere, The trees provided ample shade and made the avenues conducive for walking.  

There weren’t so many vehicles around and so the air was cleaner and pollution-free. There wasn’t so much smoke and noise.  

There were many cyclists and we could hear more of the tinkling of cycle bells rather than today’s jarring horns. The chirping of sparrows and other birds added to the charm of the environment.  

The decibel level of noise was very low.  

Today the environment is very noisy and polluted and added to this is the concrete jungle and the hazards of the harmful effects of the mobile phone radiations.
