We always talk about changing the society. Most of us are not satisfied with the current state of the society. We complain about various problems prevailing in our society. But only a few of us are really willing to take the initiative bring a change. And congratulations you are one of them.But before taking any such step, you must remember that before changing the society you must change yourself. Only then we will be able to change the society.
Also, people of diverse views exist in the society. Some people are extremely leftist, some are of right wing opinion while some may be at the centre of political spectrum . The political spectrum is really wide. So, be prepared to face the criticism of different sections.
Try to inculcate the quality of convincing the people. You must be good at convincing the people. If you try to make them aware for a social cause and prepare them to fight for a cause, then make sure that they get a platform and proper opportunity to work.Before you try to invoke any idea among the people to bring a change, make sure that they should find forms through which all these ideas can find practical expression. Otherwise they will turn rebellious and find their own methods which may be unethical and give rise to violence.
In India , religion is really used as a good tool to mobilise the people. So, if you are trying to bring any change ,consider the religious sentiments of the people. Be very careful before indulging in any issue which has religious aspects. Since India is a secular nation , certain social practices are safeguarded by religious laws. For eg, even though child marriage is prohibited under secular law, it enjoys sanction under the Hindu Marriage Act and Muslim Personal Law thus complicating matters . Sometime it may happen that the issue has got nothing to do with religion but still certain people who may be at disadvantage due to that change may try to impart religious dimension to the issue.
Next point is that you may need support of those people who are really willing to work with you.Support of youth will really help you in your purpose. The youth of this society has enormous potential to bring a major social change. Many NGOs are trying to recruit college students as volunteers. But you have to be very cautious. Be careful that you should not induce any aggression in them. Because already aggression in young people is a social issue.
Also, a platform will be required for you. Try to associate yourself with any NGO which is working in the same direction in which you want. Although frankly speaking most of the NGOs are just a way to convert the black money into white money. So, you can come up with your own organisation if you are fail to find any suitable NGO for your purpose.
Besides this, the bitter reality of this world is that to bring any change it is really necessary to be at the top of the system. You need to have some authority. If possible you can try to join civil services. You will be able to do the welfare of the society on a large scale. But be prepared to face the political pressure.

I would make it so that education ,ideology free knowledge science and wisdom are the most highly priced things in the society and that everyone hungered for it and hungered for all their citizens to have it well.
over time this would result in education being prized over else in government .providing everyone with the good ,equitable education would become the the great national goal ,rather than useless things like having the military that can destroy the world a dozen times over .terrorism and crime in general plummet.
