On his way to the fair the child sees toys, balloons of different colours, garland of gulmohur, a swing and a snake-charmer playing a flute. He gets attracted towards all these things. So, he lags behind. In the fair he wants many things.

The child sees many things on his way to the fair. He saw a toy shop , a flowering mustard field and a group of dragonflies who were busting in the field. Also he saw a little insects and worms on the footpath.

He lags behind because he becomes fascinated on watching these things and stops for watching them while his mother and father keeps on going.
