what are the things the stranger offered the lost child to console him

The stranger was ready to get anything for the lost child. But the child lost his interest on things which he wanted to buy. Now his only intention was to get united with his parents. He missed his parents for a while, he could not bear the separation, so he was not ready to ask anything to the stranger who offered many things to the lost child.
