Cutting down trees in large number is called deforestation.
The reasons for deforestation are :
-> Increase in population which indirectly means that needs are increasing . so people started to cut down the trees !!
-> The other reason is development. In order to develop a country , they need to build a lot of factories and industries which take up a lot of space and which need a lot of raw materials . So they clear up forests .
