The three layers of Date Warehouse Architecture are the following:
- Bottom Tier: This warehouse is a relational database system, and the data in this is extracted from operational databases and other external sources such as information which is provided by the customers and used by the external consultants. This information is extracted with the help of application programs which are known as gateways. Examples of gateways are ODBC ( open database connection) OLE-DB (Open Linking and Embedding for Databases) which are introduced by Microsoft and Java Database Connection.
- The Middle Tier: This is accessed through OLAP server which is either implemented with the help of a relational OLAP model which is focused on the multidimensional data to standard relational operations or multidimensional OLAP model, this model is designed for the special purpose.
- The Top Tier: This is the client and consists of queries and reporting tools or data mining tools like forecasting, trend reports, and prediction etc.

Data warehouse structure is used as a business intelligence tool, this system is used for reporting and analyzing data and is one of the important factors used in the businesses the three layers which are used in the business are known as:
- Top Layer: This is taken from the front end client and it is the first-hand data which is taken from the people directly.
- Middle Layer: It gives the user a multidimensional data which is picked up from the warehouses.
- Bottom Layer: In this layer, from the huge information available only the relevant information is picked out.
