1. Rabi crops-:These are the winter crops that are grown in the month of October to December and harvested in April to June. Availability of precipitation in the winter months due to the western temperate cyclones helps in the growth of the crops. Examples-: wheat, barley etc.

2. Kharif crops-: These are the rainy season crops that are grown in September to October. And are harvested at the end of monsoon season that's why kharif crop is also known as monsoon crop. Examples-: maize, jowar etc.

3. Zaid crops-: These crops are grown in a short season between the Rabi and Kharif seasons that is in the summer season . Examples-: Watermelon, cucumber etc.
