Answer:-

The brain is a very delicate organ of our body which is protected inside the cranium of skull.

Brain has three important regions:-

(1) Forebrain

(2) Midbrain

(3) Hindbrain

Explaination:-

Thus important functions and and explanation of these three regions are as follows:-

(1) Forebrain

  • The forebrain consists of cerebrum, diencephalon and olfactory lobes.
  • In the cerebral hemispheres that is the seat of intelligence and memory along with voluntary actions are controlled.
  • The Thalamus relays pain impulses to cerebrum.
  • Hypothalamus controls temperature of body.

(2) Midbrain

  • It consists of two thick fibrous tracts called cerebral peduncles and four swelling areas called corpora quadrigemina.
  • They are connected to the reflexes in response to sight and sound.

(3) Hindbrain

  • It consists of the cerebellum, pons varolii and the medulla oblongata.
  • Cerebellum helps in maintaining the equilibrium of the body and coordinates muscular activities.
  • The pons act as relay centre among the various parts of brain.
  • Medulla oblongata controls the involuntary actions such as reflexes, respiration etc.

●The brain is the central organ of our nervous system. It is protected within the skull and is suspended in cerebrospinal fluid. It is also known as the largest and most complex organ in the human body. The cortex is the outermost layer of brain cell.

The three main regions are :-

2 \bf{\underline{\green{Midbrain}}}

3 \bf{\underline{\pink{Hindbrain}}}

Explainations :-

● Forebrain is a main thinking part of brain.

● It has different areas such as :

  • Sensory area - It recieves sensory impulse from various receptors.
  • Auditory area - It is concerned with hearing.
  • Olfactory area - It is concerned with smell.
  • Gustatory area - It is concerned with taste.
  • Optic area - It is concerned with sight.

● The midbrain serves important functions in mortor movement, partially movement of the eyes and also for usual processing.

● The midbrain consist of tectum and tegmentum.

● The midbrain comprises of four lobes.

● The action of involuntary muscles are controlled by the mid-brain and hind-brain.

  • \huge{\underline{\underline{\bf{\pink{Hindbrain\::}}}}}

● It comprises of cerebellum, pons varolii and medulla oblongata.

● Cerebellum is the second largest part of brain that coordinates muscles activity and the body as well as well as maintains body equilibrium or posture.

● Involuntary actions like blood pressure, salivation and vomiting are controlled by the medulla in the hind-brain.
