1. Malleus- It is situated towards external ear.
•It is hammer shaped.
•It is the largest of three ossicles.
•Inner broad part of malleus is connected by incus.
•Synovial hinge joint is present between malleus and incus.
2. Incus- This ossicle is anvil shaped.
•It's outer part is connected by malleus and inner thin part is connected by stapes.
•Incus is joined with stapes by ball and socket joint.
3. Stapes- It is the smallest bone of the body.
•It looks like stirrup of horse.
•It is the result or it is formed by the modification of bone of jaw.

✴Malleus —
The malleus is attached to tympanic membrane on one side and to incus on the other side.
✴Incus—
The incus is connected with stapes.
The malleus then transmits the vibrations, via the incus, to the stapes, and so ultimately to the membrane of the fenestra ovalis, the opening to the vestibule of the inner ear.
✴Stapes—
Stapes, in turn, are attached to an oval membrane, fenestra ovalis, of the internal ear. shapes resembles of the hammer.
