While I agree on lifelong learning and self defining;  I feel that if you go through life without trusting anyone, that life would be a lonely life.

So my list would be:  

1. Trust yourself.

2. Be open-minded aka lifelong learning

3. If you fail it is not the end of the world, try again and you might succeed or at least fail better.  

It was really hard to make this list just 3 advices long/short. In the end I hope just one thing for my (future) children. That they would be happy and that was the thing I was thinking while writing these advices
