Diversity is a Hot topic in the world of business and particularly Human Resource. There are 3 main kinds of diversity in a workplace:
1. Gender Diversity: This simply means that the Hiring department is not bias against hiring one gender or the other. For example, for a long time, it has been very common for the tech industry to hire Males over Females and there have been calls for more equality and gender diversity in the sector.
2. Ethnic Diversity: This is when a workplace prefers hiring a particular ethnicity over the other. This is a common problem in western countries where for long, White/Caucasian employees were given preferences over other immigrant ethnic people. However, this is something also viewed in India and the government has laws so no one is discriminated among their ethnic or caste background. This can also include religious diversity.
3. Disability Diversity: A lot of people with disabilities are not given a chance in the workplace. For example, a person who cannot walk can still carry out admin or technology work and companies are urged to include all kinds of people to work
