A convergent plate boundary is a tectonic boundary where two plates are moving away from each otherand a new crust is formed.

The three types of plate boundaries are- divergent plate boundary, convergent plate boundary and transform fault boundary.

Answer:

As explained below.

Explanation:

  • The Himalayan orogeny could be possible due to the collision of the Indian subcontinent that broke off from the Australian continent and collide with that of the Eurasian continent and the upwelling of the Tethys sea created the sedimental motion that gradually gave birth to the Himalayas, in the northern peninsular.
  • The Collision was a part of the destructive plate margin and as the Indian plate overrides the Eurasian plate thus forms a  conventional margin. The three plates that were involved in the collision of this belt were the Asiatic plate, Eurasian plate, Indian plate which began 50 million years ago and continues even today.
  • Tibetan plateau is also a by-product of the collision.
