Three types of salts are neutral, acidic and basic salts.
Explanation:
- Neutral Salt: They are named neutral salts because their aqueous solutions are litmus-neutral.
- They are formed by neutralized strong acids and strong bases.
- Sodium chloride is a neutral salt that is produced by neutralized hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide.
- When a strong acid is neutralize with a strong base, the result is invariably a neutral salt.
- Examples: compounds like NaCl, KCl, K2S04, NaN03, KCl03, KClO4 etc are neutral salts.
- Acidic Salt:
- Because the water solution changes blue litmus crimson, a normal salt generated by neutralized a strong acid and a weak base is called acidic salt.
- Examples: compounds like FeCI3, ZnCl2, HgCl2, Fe2 (S04)3, HgS04 etc are acidic salts.
- Basic Salt:
- Basic salts are salts that, when mixed with water, produce an acidic environment.
- Examples: Compunds like sodium carbonate and sodium hydrogen carbonate are basic salts.

There are 3 types of salts:-
~ACIDIC SALT
~When a strong acid combines with a weak base we get water and Acidic Salt.
Strong acid + Weak base = Acidic Salt
~BASIC SALT
~When a strong base combined with a weak acid we get water and Basic Salt.
Strong base + Weak acid = Basic Salt
~NEUTRAL SALT
~ When a strong acid and a weak base OR weak acid and weak base combine we get Neutral Salt.
Strong base + Strong acid = Neutral Salt
Weak base + Weak acid = Neautral Salt
