the French society in 18th century was divided into three type of estate ..
1. clergy- priest of church were part of this estate and they enjoyed many privileges but most of all they were exempted from paying taxes also they extracted there share of taxes from the peasent called tith which included 1/10 of their produce .
2. nobility - included the member of royal family they also enjoyed several privileges like exemption from paying taxes , etc .
3. in the estate 90% of people were peasent and rest included administrative official ,traders, Craftsmen, artisan, shopkeeper ,etc they were only one who pade taxes ..
