(i) Tea and

(ii) Coffee.

Tea :

Temperature — 20° to 30°C

Rainfall — 150 to 200 cms.

Soil — Well drained soils

Labour — Cheap, abundant and skilled labour

Areas — Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala

Coffee:

Temperature - 15°C to 28°C

Rainfall — 150 to 200 cms.

Soil — Rich, well drained, loamy soil

Labour — Cheap labour is essential

Areas — Hills around Nilgiris, Karnataka,Kerala and Tamil Nadu
