We can obtain sodium chloride by evaporation of sea water
\Also, in saline areas of deserts .. water is mixed with the soil and then evaporated to obtain salt

hope this helped :)

Explanation:

The two ways in which the common salt (sodium chloride) has been occurring in nature are sea water and rock or mineral deposits of halite. Seawater is constituted by about 80% of dissolved salt. Common salt is available in solid natural form as the mineral halite.

Common salt can be obtained from sea water through solar evaporation.

Seawater or natural brine is stored in artificial ponds and made to evaporate to its maximum saturation point under the sun and wind. This leads to the crystallization of brine solution and formation of salt crust.

The excess water is then removed to separate salt through various processes like washing and drying and then finished salt product is separated by sifting and grading.
