Answer: By the use of releasing and inhibiting hormones

Explanation: Whenever the hypothalamus senses the need for the secretion of a hormone, it releases the Releasing hormone which in turn stimulates the Pituitary gland to release the required hormone. When the need is fulfilled, the hypothalamus secretes the inhibiting hormone, stimulating the pituitary gland to stop the secretion of said hormone. For ex: If there is a lack of insulin in the body, the hypothalamus releases the Insulin releasing hormone which stimulates the pituitary gland. The pituitary gland in turn releases hormones which stimulates the pancreas to release insulin. Once the requirement is fulfilled, the hypothalamus secretes insulin inhibiting hormone, stimulating the pituitary gland to stop releasing hormones to stimulate insulin production.
