What are the two possible values of the magnifying power of a simple microscope made of convex lens of focal length 5cm?

distance of the image v= 25 cm

distance of the object u

1/f= 1/v-1/u

putting values we get u= 25/4 cm

very simple ,magnifying power of the simple microscope is given by

m=1+D/f

here D is 25 cm (the least distance of clear vision) ok than use it.

m= 1+25/5= 6

Also

m= D/u

u= 25/4 and D= 25

m = 25/(25/4)= 4
