Two principal tasks of insulin :

  • The main task of the insulin is to maintain the sugar level in the body. The insulin is secreted from the "islets of Langerhans of the pancreas". Insulin signal the liver, the fat and the muscle cells to act on the glucose and store the extra glucose of the body in the form of a glycogen. If the body contains the extra energy then insulin do the signal to the liver to convert the glucose in the form of glycogen and store in the liver.
  • Insulin also helps to break the fat and the protein to produce energy.
