This is indeed a difficult question. Arjuna came to the battlefield ready to fight against his evil cousins. He knew that he will have to fight the elders of the family whom he loved and respected, but when he actually saw them on chariots ready to fight him, he felt extremely sad about his situation. He physically and mentally collapsed.
Shri Krishna rescued him from that stupor. First he used logic, the main thrust of which was, fighting against people who side with unrighteous regimes is the duty of kshatriyas. Society depends on kshatriyas to relieve them from evil. The word kshatriya means, one who protects others from getting hurt (kshata). Arjuna knew that it is his duty to the society.

Arjuna asked numerous questions to Lord Krishna....But the two specific questions about yoga are-
'How am I to understand that you taught this yoga in the beginning?'
'And the second question is,
Those ever-steadfast devotees who thus worship you and those who worship the eternal unmanifest Brahman, which of these has the best knowledge of Yoga?'
