Two Types of Iron: Heme iron is found in meat, poultry, and fish. Heme iron is easier for your body to absorb than non-heme iron. Non-heme iron is more easily absorbed when consumed with a vitamin C source such as non-calcium fortified fruit juices, or with an iron rich animal source.
