Answer:

Two ratios that have the same value are called equivalent ratios. To find an equivalent ratio, multiply or divide both quantities by the same number. It is the same process as finding equivalent fractions.

Answer:

As shown below

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Given Equivalent ratios are the ratios which are same when we simplify them or the two ratios in which one ratio can be written as multiple of other ratio
  • We can get equivalent ratios in two ways

1) multiplying ratio with same number

to get equivalent ratios multiply with any number

example : finding equivalent ratios of 2 : 1  and 11 : 22

2 : 1

 (2 : 1) × 2 =   2× 2 : 1× 2 = 4 : 2

 (2 : 1 ) × 3 = 2 ×3 : 1 ×3 = 6 : 3

equivalent ratios of 2 : 1 are  4 : 2 and 6 : 3

11 : 22

(11 : 22)× 2 =  11 ×2 : 22 ×2 = 22 : 44

(11 : 22) × 5 = 11 ×5 : 22 ×5 = 55 : 110

equivalent ratios of 11 : 22 are 22 : 44 and 55 : 110

if we multiply with more numbers we will get more equivalent ratios

2) dividing ratio with same number

to get equivalent ratios divide with same number

example : finding equivalent ratios of 16 : 4 and  21 : 24

16 : 4

   (16 : 4) ÷ 2 =   16/2 : 4/2 =  8 : 2

   (16 :4) ÷ 4 =    16/4 : 4/4 = 4 : 1

equivalent ratios of 16 : 4 are 8 : 2 and 4 : 1

21 : 24

  (21 : 24)÷ 3 = 21/3 : 24/3 = 7 : 8

equivalent ratio of 21 : 24 is 7 : 8
