Answer:
Buffers are broadly divided into two types – acidic and alkaline buffer solutions. Acidic buffers are solutions that have a pH below 7 and contain a weak acid and one of its salts. For example, a mixture of acetic acid and sodium acetate acts as a buffer solution with a pH of about 4.75.

We have two types of buffer solution :-
1) Simple buffers:- These include the sales of weak acids and weak bases.
2) Mixed buffers:- These buffer solutions are mixture of two components either acidic or basic in nature.
Mixed buffers are further classified as :
A. Acid buffers:- These buffers contains equimolar quantities of weak acid and its salt with a strong base.
B. Basic buffers:- These buffers consists of equimolar quantities of weak base and its salt with a strong acid.
