If a fire has taken hold,(spread to other areas or structures or the smoke has is at head height), all occupants of that building must bealertedand evacuated.Note to all: Do not fight a fire not worth fighting, evacuate the building; personal safety comes first.Contact the fire brigade as soon as possible.

Turn off all power to the fire, usually done by turning off the main power. This step alone is usually enough to stop most fires in the initial stages.

Use a safety blanket to smother the fire (Remember:If you do not turn off the power supply, electric shock is likely to occur.).

Answer:

Fire extinguishers come in five different varieties: wet chemical, CO2, dry powder, foam, and water. The variety of fuels that might start a fire has led to the need for several types of fire extinguishers.

Explanation:

Wet chemical, CO2, dry powder, foam, and water are the five different types of fire extinguishers. Due of the variety of fuels that can start a fire, various types of fire extinguishers are necessary.

 Foam Extinguishers

The most popular type of class B fire extinguisher is a foam extinguisher. They are water-based, though, therefore they can also be used to put out class A fires.

Water Extinguishers

Extinguishers made of water operate similarly to those made of foam. They can be helpful in class A fires. For fires started by various organic materials, such as wood, cardboard, and paper, water extinguishers are also employed. Additionally, it is useless in cases of kitchen fires, fires involving electrical appliances, and flames brought on by combustible metals.

Dry Powder Extinguishers

ABC extinguishers are another name for generic dry chemical extinguishers. Class A, Class B, and Class C fires may benefit from these. Because the dry powder in the extinguisher can be inhaled, they should not be used in small places. After a fire, it's frequently difficult to remove the leftovers. They may also be helpful in cases of electrical appliance fires.

Wet Chemical Extinguishers

Cooking oil and fat fires are a Class F fire, and wet chemical extinguishers are used to put them out. They are helpful in Class A fires as well, but a foam or water extinguisher is more frequently used for this type of fire hazard.
