The Types Of Mixtures:
- There are two types of mixtures that are homogeneous mixtures and heterogeneous mixtures.
- Homogeneous mixtures: In this type of mixture the composition of the elements must be in a uniform composition.
- In these compounds there are no visible separations in the constituents.
- These type of mixture cannot be seen with the naked eye.
- For example if we mix salt in water the water would be salty. All the portions of the water will have the same saltiness.
- The next type of mixture is the Heterogeneous mixture. This type of mixture is exactly opposite of heterogeneous mixture.
- The composition of Heterogeneous mixture is not uniformly composed throughout the mixture.
- These mixtures have visible boundaries of separation between them. These mixtures can even be seen with the naked eye.
- Example of heterogeneous mixtures are oil mixed with water. In this example there is a visible boundary between water and oil that is visible to us as the oil separates water. We can see it with our eyes.
- Some feature of mixtures is that the compounds are not chemically combined they are mixed together.
- The constituents that are present in a mixture are not present in fixed ratios it can change.
