DEFINITION of 'Organized Labor' Organized labor is an association of workers united as a single, representative entity for the purpose of improving the workers' economic status and working conditions through collective bargaining with employers.

Organized labor groups are also refereed to as unions and they have two major types for instance the horizontal union and the vertical union. Horizontal union is where members in there share one common skills where as horizontal union refers to workers or members who come from the line of duty or who come from the same industry.
