Answer:

hey mate

there are two types of respiration

Anaerobic & aerobic

aerobic respiration -

aerobic respiration is release of energy from glucose in the presence of oxygen strictly speaking aerobic means in air power it is the oxygen in the air which is necessary for aerobic respiration in organism is described as aerobic if it requires oxygen in order to survive.

anaerobic-

that takes place in the absence of air oxygen oxygen is not used for the release of energy E from food molecules such as glucose and organism is described as an anaerobic organism when it does not require oxygen to produce energy.

IMPORTANT-

ANOTHER TYPE OF ANAEROBIC RESPIRATION CAN TAKE PLACE IN HUMAN MUSCLES CELLS WHEN ENOUGH OXYGEN IS NOT AVAILABLE.

Answer:

\huge{\underline{\sf{Respiration\:\::-}}}

The process of releasing energy from food is called as respiration.

• The process of respiration involves taking in oxygen ( of air ) into the cells, using it for releasing energy by burning food and then eliminating the waste products ( carbon dioxide and water ) from the body.

In most of the cases, organisms carry out respiration by using oxygen. There are, however some organisms which carry out respiration without using oxygen. Based on this, we have two types of respiration -

  • Aerobic respiration
  • Anaerobic respiration

  • The respiration which uses oxygen is called as aerobic respiration.

  • In aerobic respiration, the glucose food is completely broken down into carbon dioxide and water by oxidation.

  • The respiration which takes place without oxygen is called as anaerobic respiration.

  • In microscopic organisms like yeast and some bacteria obtain energy by anaerobic respiration ( which is called as fermentation ) .
