Answer:
There are two types of cellular respiration (see Cellular Respiration concept): aerobic and anaerobic. One occurs in the presence of oxygen (aerobic), and one occurs in the absence of oxygen (anaerobic). Both begin with glycolysis - the splitting of glucose.

Answer:
There are 2 types of respiration upon presence or absence of oxygen
- Aerobic Respiration
- Anaerobic Respiration
Aerobic Respiration :- When the breakdown of food takes place in the presence of oxygen, it is called aerobic Respiration. In this process, glucose is completely oxidised to produce carbon dioxide, water and a large amount of energy. 38 molecules of ATP are released from oxidation of each glucose molecule
Anaerobic Respiration :- When the breakdown of food takes place in the absence of oxygen, it is called Anaerobic Respiration. Due to the absence of oxygen, glucose is not completely oxidised, and it breaks down into alcohol and carbon dioxide with the release of less amount of energy. Only 2 molecules of ATP are released from oxidation of glucose molecule in process.
