Answer:-

Concave mirrors are the converging mirrors, which are used to collect light from a smaller source.

Explaination:-

There are six positions of image formation for concave mirrors:–

1. Object at infinity forms image at the focus(f) .[real, inverted, diminished image]

2. Object beyond 'C' or 'centre of curvature' forms image between C&f. [real, inverted, small image]

3. Object at C forms image at C. inverted, real, equal to the object ]

4. Obiect between C&f forms image beyond C. [real, inverted, large]

5. Object at f forms image at infinity. [real, inverted, larger]

6. When the object is between focus and pole then image will be formed behind the mirror. [virtual, erect, enlarged]

Uses of concave mirror are as follows:–

(a) It is used as make up mirror to give a larger view of the face.

(b) It is used as shaving mirror.

(c) It is used to gather light from a small source and direct beam of light so used in torches, headlamps and spotlights.

(d) Also used to capture light from a larger source and focus it into a small spot as in concentrated solar power.

(e) Used by dentists to get enlarged view or magnified image of the teeth.

(f) Also used in landing of aeroplanes as a system of modern aircraft carriers.
