Heya friend,

Diffusion is the movement of gases (O2 and CO2) through the semi-permeable membrane (plasma membrane) from its higher concentration to lower concentration.

Uses of diffusion-

•They helps in exchange of respiratory gases.
•Helps in distribution and spread of different substances in the cytoplasm.
•Diffusion of water leads to osmosis, and roots of plants absorb water through osmosis.
•Various substances (solid, liquid and gases) dissolves in the medium through diffusion.
•Spread of scent or smell of hot food or smell from flowers is also due to diffusion. It is important for plants to attract insect's for pollination.
•Transpiration from aerial parts of plants occurs due to diffusion.

Hope it helps...!!!
