hydrometer is a device used to find relative density of a liquids.it consists of glass body and a bulb weighted by mercury.the liquid to be tested is poured into container and hydrometer is lowered such that it floats freely.the point at which the surface of liquid correlates with the stem of container is the relative density. lactometer is used to check purity of cow's milk
